My name is Valley Urricelqui and I am a 21-year-old senior attending California State University, Chico, where I am studying for a degree in Agriculture Education.
When I am not at school you can find me doing a variety of extracurricular activities. I love to spend time with friends and family, go to the gym, spend time on our ranch and most importantly EAT! I am the Personal Relations Chair for Chico Young Cattleman’s Association, as well as a National Collegiate Beef Advocate and a California State Beef Ambassador representing the North-State. As Beef Ambassador I have a very important role to promote and help shine a brighter light on the Beef Industry.
As California Beef Ambassador, I will travel across the state to represent the beef industry in order to educate people on the nutritional, economic, and environmental benefits of beef. I also plan to take my knowledge and enthusiasm into the classroom and educate youth on the importance of the livestock and agriculture industry.
As a fifth-generation cattle rancher in Northeastern California, I have grown such a large passion for the agriculture industry. I want people to understand that you don’t have to have an agricultural background to support agriculture. We are a dying breed and it’s more important now than ever for people to understand where their food comes from and that it is safe, wholesome and nutritious.
I am so excited to announce the start of my new blog. I have been going back and forth about starting one for a while now and thought “What better time?” I can’t wait to take ya’ll on this journey with me to keep up with all things agriculture!
